PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 30 September 2026

This policy explains what personal data Poi Skool collects, why, and what happens to it. It's written to be read, not decoded, but it still meets what UK and EU data protection law (UK GDPR and, where it applies, the EU GDPR) requires of us.

Who's responsible for your data

Poi Skool is a sole-trader business run by Stuart Wedge. For the purposes of data protection law, Stuart Wedge, trading as Poi Skool, is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.

What we collect and why

Waitlist & poster downloadsYour name and email address, collected through our sign-up forms, so we can send you the poster or meetup updates you asked for and, if you don't opt out, occasional emails about Poi Skool. Legal basis: consent.
Community membershipYour name, email address, profile details, posts, messages and any other information you add when you join the Poi Skool community on Skool, so we can run the community and deliver what you're a paying or free member for. Legal basis: performance of a contract (paid membership) or consent (free membership).
Payment detailsIf you pay for a Poi Skool membership, your payment is handled by Skool and its payment processor. We don't see or store your card details ourselves. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
Emails you send usAnything you tell us directly, for example by replying to an email or messaging us. Legal basis: legitimate interest, in responding to you.

We don't collect any special category data (health, ethnicity, and so on) on purpose, and we ask that you don't send us any either.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We do use a small number of other companies to run Poi Skool, and your data passes through them as part of that:

Each of these companies only processes your data to provide their service to us and is bound by its own data protection terms with us.

Data transferred outside the EU and UK

Skool, Inc., Kit and Microsoft are all US-based companies (Microsoft also operates infrastructure in other countries). That means your personal data is transferred to, and stored on, servers outside the UK and EU as a normal part of using these services.

Where that happens, it's covered by the safeguards UK and EU law requires for this kind of transfer, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, and each provider's own data protection and privacy commitments. You can ask us for more detail on the specific safeguards in place for any of these transfers using the contact details below.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist and download details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until they're no longer needed for the purpose you gave them for. Membership data is kept for as long as you're a member of the Poi Skool community, plus a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal, accounting and dispute-handling obligations.

Your rights

Under UK and EU GDPR, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email us using the details below. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK.

Cookies

This site doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. Forms and embedded tools provided by Kit and Skool may set their own cookies when you use them, under their own privacy policies.

Children

Poi Skool is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
